popupvillage.org Working in partnership with Designing Justice, Designing Space, lcp was tasked with overseeing a branding and outreach campaign for a San Francisco-based Pop Up Resource Village. The Village brings government, education, and social services along with local retailers and makers to various disenfranchised neighborhoods within the City. lcp develop and lead several interactive exercises as part of a “branding booth” where we could talk with attendees to learn about what they like and value about the event, the types of visuals and marketing materials they best connect with, as well as desired names for the event. Building upon a rich set of objective and objective data points collected from the branding booth, lcp developed a very bold and powerful identity mark for the event that roots the event in the traditionally African (American) heritage of the neighborhoods served. Additional design support included a set of brand guidelines, art direction on a website (programmed by others), custom icons for signage at the events, and preliminary marketing plans and messaging points.
